A multi-part telenovela which presents the vocabulary, grammatical structures and functions of Spanish in a natural, conversational way, emphasizing comprehension through context and actions. Tells the story of Raquel Rodriguez, an attorney from Los Angeles, who is hired by an aging Mexican industrialist to investigate a long-buried secret about his past. Her quest takes her to Spain, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

This new Beginning Spanish text is a brief version of the successful ¿Sabías que…?, perfectly designed for those programs that are interested in an innovative task-based approach but whose curriculum necessitates a briefer text.

La finalidad de este curso es aprender, a través de ejemplos, el idioma más utilizado en viajes y negocios y poder estar en condiciones de ponerlo en práctica gradualmente. The present study aims at offering an overview of Spanish-Portuguese (and Spanish-Galician-Portuguese) language contact, both in Europe and in America. It pays a special attention to the history of linguistic interferences in each region, examining how and when lexical borrowings entered the Spanish language and how they disseminated across the Spanish-speaking world.
