En el siglo XVII, Nueva Espana era un territorio muy urbanizado; junto a las grandes capitales provinciales se encontraban medianas y pequenas ciudades en las que se repetian los patrones de vida cotidiana implantados por los espanoles en la ciudad de Mexico.
