A través del daguerrotipo tomado desde el mirador del Valle (muy cerca de la entrañable ermita de la Virgen), se entra por “la puerta grande” de la historia del daguerrotipo en España. Apenas se cuenta en nuestro país con una treintena de imágenes de este tipo, y por ser esta de la ciudad de Toledo, uno de los mejores ejemplos conservados, de una extraordinaria y singular riqueza. La profesora y especialista en Historia de la Fotografía, María de los Santos García Felguera, ha realizado un extraordinario trabajo de investigación en torno a este hallazgo, enmarcándolo en su momento histórico (entre 1847 y 1857) profundizando en sus aspectos más sobresalientes.
