This catalogue offers a chronological survey of the work constructed between 1984 and 1994 by the architect Jo Coenen (Heerlen, 1949), with offices in Eindhoven and Maastricht.

To know the work of art in its historical context we can understand and explain its meaning, the symbols involved, the author's intention and the reasons that allowed its creation. In this sense, the book seeks to recognize the various manifestations of art in its historical perspective. Este pequeño libro alterna imágenes de los espacios interiores del espléndido y esplendoroso Teatro Real con tomas de distintas obras que se han representado sobre su escenario. Incluye textos que ayudan a conocer el contexto histórico en que fue construido tan emblemático edificio y una explicación sobre los distintos aspectos y retos arquitectónicos que supuso su perpetración.

Campus Oriente, sede de la Facultad de Artes y del Instituto de Estética, es un ejemplo de patrimonio cultural vivo por su uso universitario, la conservación de sus espacios y, sobre todo, por sus intervenciones contemporáneas que demuestran atención material y sensibilidad hacia las estructuras preexistentes. Aquí, el pasado y el presente se funden en un proyecto cultural de encuentro abierto a la comunidad.
