Primo Levi

Libro Primo Levi

It's a pretty long story, Primo Levi tells a classroom of children, so I'll try to make it simple. This hauntingly illustrated comic tells the story of the Italian Jewish chemist who survived the camps at Auschwitz against all odds. Matteo Mastragostino draws on historical research, interviews, and Levi's own landmark books to piece together a fictionalized yet profoundly intimate portrait of a courageous figure. In the scene that emerges, Levi visits a group of schoolchildren to retell his life story and keep the memory of the Holocaust alive, answering innocent questions with hard truths....

Mi Vida Con Sordera

Libro Mi Vida Con Sordera

Meet Danton! He loves his dogs and playing football. He's also deaf. Danton is real and so are his experiences. Learn about his life in this illustrated narrative nonfiction picture book for elementary students. This is a North American Spanish translation of My Life with Deafness. Kids are naturally curious about differences and disabilities. Danton sheds light on his life, with the help of experienced children's author Mari Schuh. He's not defined by his deafness, but he does some things differently than people who can hear. Beautiful illustrations and a dyslexic-friendly font promote...

Meditations

Libro Meditations

The definitive annotated translation of Marcus Aurelius's Meditations Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (121-180 CE) was the sixteenth emperor of Rome -- and by far the most powerful man in the world. Yet he was also an intensely private person, with a rich interior life and one of the wisest minds of his generation. He collected his thoughts in notebooks, gems that have come to be called his Meditations. Never intended for publication, the work has proved an inexhaustible source of wisdom and one of the most important Stoic texts of all time. In often passionate language, the entries range from...
