La presente obra pretende incorporar a los estudios fenicios un tipo de trabajo que ha resultado extremadamente fructífero en otras especialidades. Una aproximación característica que hace del hombre o los hombres de una determinada época o cultura el objeto principal de su estudio, mediante la presentación de diferentes perfiles, tipos o personajes. Una forma de trabajo que permite a la vez, profundizar en aspectos particulares de la cultura estudiada y reflexionar sobre ella y sobre nuestras formas de comprenderla, situando al hombre en el centro de toda atención.
