El presente trabajo del profesor Madia pretende despertar el interés en el lector, de la necesidad de entender a la Arquitectura como testigo palpable de la evolución social en el mundo y en lo regional, nacional y local, pretendiendo a su valoración testimonial y su preservación. Así ha buscado que su discurso crítico tenga acogida por afuera de la Disciplina específica para amalgamarse en un diálogo más fructífero con los usuarios de Arquitectura, que somos todos.

This monumental work is a detailed catalogue of the public architecture competitions in Argentina between 1825 and 2006. It is organized chronologically, and each entry includes information on the competition itself (location, dates, sponsors, juries, etc.) and the construction, as well as a brief history and bibliography. The entire book is rich in images, including photographs, maps, and architectural plans.

Este volumen reune estudios en torno a las representaciones de la ciudad en la literatura y en las artes. Ciudades imaginadas desde los mitos fundacionales de la cultura occidental hasta las narrativas desarticuladas que genera la urbe posmoderna; ciudades utópicas del Renacimiento y ciudades distópicas del Nuevo Mundo de fin de siglo; son diferentes testimonios de la relevancia de lo urbano en la configuración espacio-temporal del imaginario.
