De los toltecas ancestrales hasta los aztecas, la mayoría de los historiadores dejaban casi en blanco cinco largos siglos (del VIII al XIII) que poco a poco empiezan a ser ocupados por la hegemonía de Culhuacán, sitio al pie del Cerro de la Estrella, en el valle de México.
