La Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, desde su fundación dada el 30 de mayo de 1918 hasta los tiempos actuales, ha transitado por momentos interesantes, de especial lucidez en su organización académica y también de rompimiento en las relaciones universitarias y de intervención de los Poderes públicos en su vida interna.
