Comentarios de la guerra de Alejandría, obra de Aulo Hircio, compañero y amigo de Julio César, pretende ser una continuación de los Comentarios sobre la guerra civil de Julio César. La obra de César termina con el fin de Pompeyo en Egipto. No obstante, la segunda guerra civil romana continuó por un tiempo a cargo de los líderes optimate restantes y los hijos de Pompeyo Magno. Las siguientes obras continuadoras relatan lo ocurrido en Alejandría, África y España.
