Las obras sobre el evangelio de Marcos son muy numerosas. Pero la presentada aquí es original en varios aspectos. En primer lugar, por su redacción, que es rigurosa, pero evita los tecnicismos. En segundo lugar, por su enfoque: no se trata de una lectura continua, sino de una elección de episodios que constituyen claves de lectura. El examen del arte del relato -los ecos entre el comienzo y el final, el análisis de la intriga-, la atención prestada a elementos como la ley, el sistema de pureza, los espacios (las casas, las sinagogas, el Templo... ¡pero también a la tumba!), una mirada diferente a la Pasión, nos abren a la belleza de un texto que choca contra las evidencias para conducir a la verdad de Cristo y del Evangelio.
