Kerouac y La Generacion Beat

Resumen del Libro

Libro Kerouac y La Generacion Beat

This book is an exploration of Jack Kerouac, the writer that a whole generation turned into their reluctant spokesman. Duval gives a voice to key figures from that movement: the poet Allen Ginsberg; Carolyn Cassadys wife and Kerouacs lover; Joyce Johnson, who was in a relationship with the writerwhen he became famous; Timothy Leary, the psychedelic guru of the sixties; Anne Waldman, beat poet; and Ken Kesey, a central figure of American counter-culture. Through their stories, we investigate the mysterious figure of Jack Kerouac, the man who wrote the most important novel of his generation to later fall into the depths of alcoholism and despair. The result is an authentic fresco of the beat generation.

Universal Father

Libro Universal Father

Pope John Paul II is now universally considered to have been one of the great leaders of the twentieth century and possibly the most politically influential pope since St Peter. His achievements are well documented, yet he once said, 'I can only be understood from the inside.' In this vivid and accessible living portrait, O'Connor investigates the inner man, including Karol Wojtyla's life before he became Pope and his friendships with men and women, subtly analysing the Pope's own poems, plays and philosophical works for clues as to what made him tick. It also dramatically follows his life,...

What are their greatest moments on record, as a group and individually? What contemporary records influenced them, and which performers follow in their wake? What was it like to be at a Pink Floyd show in 1967, in 1973, in 1980? Pink Floyd...

Mi Vida...en uniforme

Libro Mi Vida...en uniforme

"Mi Vida...en uniforme" in English means "My Life ...in uniform" and is a sequel to my first book titled "Mi Calle, Mi Barrio,Mi Pueblo" which again translated to English means "My Street, My Neighborhood, My Town". Each one of those books narrates a distinct phase of my life with all the anecdotes, persons, and situations that formed me as a person. Mi Vida starts where Mi Calle ends and walks the reader while having a conversation, as good friends do, through my life as a college student and then as a United States Army Officer for twenty one years which included a war, Viet Nam, and a...
