Interpretación de "La novela en el tranvía" de Benito Pérez Galdós

La incluye el propio autor dentro de las narraciones cortas que denomina “cuentos”. Fue publicada por primera vez en La ilustración de Madrid, entre el 30 de noviembre y el 15 de diciembre de 1871. Dice el crítico J. F. Montesinos: “Es curiosa la factura, ya muy galdosiana, de esta obrita tal vez la mejor entre las primeras tentativas del autor en el campo de la ficción libre”. Se trata de la historia de una histeria en la que la realidad se contrapone con la fantasía sin límites obvios y se establecen relaciones de sentido entre situaciones y factores que no son relacionados en absoluto.
