How much importance do we give to the settings in which we live, sleep and relax when we go travelling? Nowadays travel usually means spending time in hotels, and these establishments have set about specializing in order to satisfy the varied needs of their guests. In this book we have sought to open a window on today's highly innovative hotels by showcasing some particularly attractive examples from all over the world. All the hotels that we have gathered together are united by a quest for up-to-date design aimed at providing a welcome for business travelers or tourists.

A study by the founder of the Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad del Bío-Bío. The first part is a history from pre-Columbian times to 1973, omitting the long colonial period. The second part considers the evolution of urbanism in Chile and includes a chronology of national and international architectural events and several annexes.
