The main objective of this work was to obtain an overview of the Roman monetary circulation in Gallaecia following the road network that crossed this territory in Roman times.

Many of the 13 essays in this collection originate from the archaeology symposia of the Society for Latin American Studies held at Bradford University in 1989; others have been commissioned from people engaged in research in Central and South America.
